Dear Parents, Students and Community Members:

I hope you’ve enjoyed the warm, sunny summer.  The maintenance staff has the building ready to greet the staff and students to begin the new 2011– 2012 school year.  Staff will return for In-Service training on September 1 & 6.  Students will join us on Wednesday, September 7^th for a full day of classes.  Buses will drop students off at 8:20 a.m. daily and depart from school daily at 3:25. p.m.  Middle and high school students begin at 8:25 a.m. daily.

We truly appreciate our supportive parents, caring staff and community members who work together

with us to help our students be successful. This level of support is the reason why our students do

well on the NYS Grades 3 – 8 Assessments and High School Regents exams.  We will strive to continue this level of excellence.  We will spend this year working on the Dignity for All Act and the new teacher and principal annual professional performance evaluation systems that are being                implemented by the State Education Department.

We welcome a new staff member, Mr. Zachary Lehman, part time Kindergarten-sixth grade physical education teacher. Zach is a Beaver River alumnus and recent graduate of SUNY Cortland. 

Mrs. Joyce Zehr, teacher assistant at Beaver River for 20 years has retired as of August 8, 2011.  We thank Joyce for her dedication and many years of service to Beaver River.
