In October, Pride of Beaver River recognition was given to Caroline Spink and Kaylee Rhone for winning gold medal status at the National FCCLA Conference held in Tennessee this past July. 

 

Pride of Beaver River recognition was also given to several Beaver River employees who went above and beyond the call of duty during the flu outbreak in October:  Janet Andre, Marcia Ashline, Jim Aucter, KaTina Aucter, Taren Beller, Shannon Bourcy, Mary Brooks, Nicole Brown, Mary Bush, Mike Davoy, Tony Dicob, Brenda Dicob, Tim Duffer, Todd Green, Todd Grunert, Dennis Halko, Lyn. Herzig, Willie Huggins, Karen Jones, Jim Kellogg, Chris LaBare, Travis LaRock, Kimberly Lyman-Wright, Debra Lyndaker, Jerilyn Moshier, Sheila Neddo, Jane Peters, Dan Peters, Lans Petzoldt, Ron Pierce, Valerie Proulx, Amy Purcell, Ann Roth, Laurie Shepherd, Amber Susice, Judy Ward, Cindy Ward and Joyce Zehr.  Thank you to all for your hard work! 

 

Board of Education members were also given recognition during NYS School Board Recognition held in October.  Thank you to Marian Opela (President), John Lehman (Vice President), Bobby Cobb, Christine Lashbrooks, David Meyer, Todd Lighthall and Gary Herzig for your dedication to our school and community.

In November, the 2009 Girls Varsity Swim team was given recognition as Frontier League Division Champions:  Rebekah Andre, Keegan Bowman, Heather Bush, Jessica Decker, Anna Garrison, Kelsey Glenn, Lydia Gydesen, Jaccilyn Jantzi, Lauren Jones, Kylee Leviker, Olivia McVoy, Allsion Meyer, Kalee Rhone, Brittney Smith, Morgan Stevens, Jolene Stoffle, Jasmine Tolbert, Elaine VanDerVeeken and Elizabeth Widrick.

 

The following members of the Girls Varsity Cross Country team were recognized as Section III Class D Champions and NYS Class D Third Place finishers:  Deidra Beller, Dalas Briot, Karlee Duffer, Erin Garrison, Monica Interiano, Rachel Rice, Kaitlyn Taylor and Abigail Zehr. 

 

The following members of the Boys Varsity Cross Country team were recognized as Section III Class D Champions andn NYS Class D Second Place finishers:  Matt Cheney, Nathan Cobb, Cody Houppert, Logan Kempney, Corey Lyndaker, Josh Purcell, Ryan Scanlon, Gabe Shepherd and Cody Updike.

 

The following members if the Boys Varsity Swim team were recognized for their help at the Lions’ Club Spaghetti Supper in November:  Andrew Duffer, Kaleb Schweitzer, Christopher Davis, Logan Kempney, Josh Purcell, Nicholas Sundberg, Zachary Mattimore and Kyle Zehr.

During the month of December, many students and faculty were given Pride of Beaver River recognition:

 

Olivia Cornell, Andrew Duffer and Elizabeth Widrick (alternate) for Conference All State Music.   

 

Olivia Cornell, Andrew Duffer, Tamara Fidler, Erin Garrison, Nicole Hall, Rebecca Hunkins, Kelsey Lyndaker, Paige Mathys, Joshua Purcell, Adam Queen, Nicholas Sundberg, Elizabeth Widrick, Kimberly Widrick, Adriana Woolschlager and Lilia Woolshlager for Area All State.

 

Riley Joslin for creating a PowerPoint presentation for the Capital Project.

 

Mrs. Joyce Zehr for arranging the flu clinic in November.   

 

Tracy Walseman and Janine Mattimore for their additional efforts made over the summer to handle the financial needs of the Transportation and Building and Grounds department.

In January, 2010 Pride of Beaver River recognition was given to three staff members for their years of service to Beaver River.

 

Pictured left to right are:  Ellie Widrick for her work with the Committee on Special Education before her resignation due to health reasons, Kathy Zecher for her great job teaching kindergarten for 25 years and as a substitute librarian this fall and Eleanor Herzig for 27 years as a secretary and cafeteria monitor.

Pride of Beaver River recognition for February, 2010 was given to one student and three faculty members for their recent accomplishments. 

 

Nicole Hall was recognized for winning the VFW Voice of Democracy Essay Contest.  Carolyn Marolf and Charlotte Schweitzer were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the Beaver River boys swim team.  Michelle Watkins was recognized for her participation in the National Science Foundation trip to Africa.

For the month of March, 2010 Pride of Beaver River recognition was given to Brandon Atwood, Cody Brown, Samuel Bush, Aiden Clement, Logan Clement, Logan Farney, Kelsey Glenn, Louis LaParr, Mary LaParr, Sarah LaParr, Emily Morton, Mackenzie Rhone, Austin Sauer, Bryson Sauer, Mariella Sauer, McKenzie Sauer, Shannon Sauer, Amber Simpson, Joshua Smith, Gregory Virkler and Zachary Virkler for their great behavior on the bus on March 3, 2010.

Pride of Beaver River recognition for the month of April, 2010 was given to several students and a community member for their great efforts. 

 

Mickey Lehman was recognized for his donation of $500 for dirt for the softball field. 

 

Mackenna Olmstead, Dana Halladay, Connor Demo, Nicholas Susice, Dalton Finster and Natalie Monnat were recognized for their participation in the National Children's Dental Health Month Essay and Coloring Contest, sponsored by Sunshine Dental, Watertown, NY.  Natalie Monnat placed as one of the top 3 overall winners and was awarded a US Savings Bond as a grand prize.  Great job to all the participants for your hard work.

Beaver River Peer Tutors and a third grade student were given Pride of Beaver River recognition at the May, 2010 Board of Education meeting. 

 

Rebekah Andre, Olivia Cornell, Erin Garrison, Samantha Hawksley, Lauren Jones, Payge Lehman, Kalee Rhone, Tasha Roes, Ryan Scanlon, Caroline Spink, Morgan Stevens, Lora Sullivan and Elaine VanDerVeeken were recognized for their great work as peer tutors during the 2009 - 2010 school year.  Ms. Anne Stevens was also recognized as the Peer Tutor Coordinator. 

 

Third grade student, Joshua Kuhl, was recognized for his good citizenship at this year's Elementary Winter Carnival.

During the month of June, 2010 Beaver River Central recognized students and community members as the Pride of Beaver River

 

Seth Shaw, Shawn Shaw and Taylor Wiley were recognized for their volunteer work with Lewis County Opportunities.  Doris Boliver and Janine Mattimore were recognized for their hard work and dedication with the Beaver River Relay For Life Team throughout the years.
