A Note About Me!

On A Personal Note...

I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri.  After graduating I had an opportunity to move out west to work in Denver Colorado. From there I moved to Breckenridge Colorado. Then, moved to New York State, and now live in Lyons Falls.

I have three children. My daughter Alesha, who lives in Hopewell Junction with her husband Simon, and my two granddaughters Ashley and Katie. My son Nathan, is in the Air Force, and presently stationed at McGuire AFB in New Jersey. He is married to my wonderful daughter-in-law Fey.  My youngest son Nicholas, is presently living and working in the Telluride Colorado area.

Since I can remember I wanted to be a teacher. After raising my family, I went back to college to pursue my degree in Education. I have an Associates degree from JCC, a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from SUNY Oneonta, a Masters of Science in Reading from SUNY Potsdam, and my Reading Recovery certification from Purdue University. This is my 16th year at Beaver River Central.

The most exciting thing about my job is the success the students feel when they can do something they could not do before. I learn something new everyday from the children I work with and look forward to many more years of learning.
