Free Orchestra Concert

Hello everyone!
            As you're swinging into your summer plans, I thought I would make you all aware of a FREE musical opportunity coming to Jefferson County next week! 
            The Orchestra of Northern New York will be presenting their annual Fourth of July concert "Under the Stars... and Stripes!" conducted by Michael Colburn. This orchestra consists of professional musicians around northern New York, many of which are public school music teachers. Within the percussion section you will find our very own Middle & High School Band Director, Mr. Matthew McGrath, who celebrates his 10th year playing in ONNY.  
        Their patriotic and popular music that will surely get your toes tapping and your flags waving for America's 249th Birthday! Whether you’re into the rousing marches of Sousa, the majestic fanfares of John Williams, or the Broadway sounds of Chicago, this program has something for everyone. 
         The performance is at Watertown's Thompson Park at 8:00pm. Admission is FREE! There are many food trucks and vendors available to the public. Fort Drum shows off their Howitzer Cannons in one of the Orchestra's pieces, and to top it off, there is a spectacular fireworks show at the end of performance. Come enjoy a free, beautiful night of music and patriotism with your families.
